Ebele Egbarin & Associates represents multinational companies in Nigeria, as well as domestic blue chip companies. We provide general consultancy services and give legal advice to our clients on a varied and wide spectrum of commercial legal issues. We provide commercial contract support for in-house legal teams as well as handle major projects and business-critical contracts for companies across sectors. We work on transactions ranging from straightforward agreements to complex multi-party projects spanning multiple jurisdictions. We advise clients on transactional issues, negotiate and draft commercial agreements, interpret and vet contracts for foreign companies intending to introduce their own established tenets of work practices into their Nigerian operations. For instance, we have a retainer with a non-English speaking multinational organization for the purpose of ensuring that their internal policies are not at variance with Nigerian Law. We also regularly and routinely obtain expatriate quotas for firms and act as external Company Secretary to several organisations.
We are members of the Competition/Antitrust Law pressure group, who worked with the Ministry of Justice and a few other Law Firms, to draft a Competition Bill for passage into law. Our primary task was to advise and draft new laws and regulations that would provide the institutional and regulatory framework which is a precondition to private sector participation in Nigeria’s growing economy.
Our practice includes commercial debt recovery. We provide consultation and implementation to clients regarding the handling of their collection claims. |
